In recent years, there has been an increasing shift from symptom-targeted healthcare to comprehensive “full life wellness” approaches that incorporate aspects of physical, mental, emotional, social, and even spiritual health. However, the integration of these domains within a personalized, evidence-informed care model remains a challenge both in practice and research.
What promising assessment frameworks or intervention protocols exist for truly holistic wellness that move beyond modular or reductionistic models (e.g., focusing only on nutrition, exercise, or mindfulness alone)? Specifically, are there validated multidimensional tools or programs that demonstrate meaningful and sustainable improvements in multiple wellness domains when implemented together?
Additionally, what are the most significant barriers - whether methodological, regulatory, or educational - to the adoption of such whole-person wellness models in both conventional and alternative healthcare settings?
I am interested in examples-preferably peer-reviewed or with rigorous outcome data-that illustrate successful integration, as well as discussion regarding scalability, cultural adaptability, and ethical considerations for practitioners.
